I asked Calvin and Judy how they selected Trinity's name and the answered they gave me is a reflection of their values, faith and their sense of humor. I'll sprinkle their answers throughout the posting below.
Mommy and Me.
Mommy, hold my hand.
"Trinity...referring to the triune God"
The Massage.
The Kiss
In Grandma's arms.
I asked Calvin to pick up Trinity and hold her in his arm. When he put her on his shoulder, he began to sing "You danced over me, when I am unaware. You sing all around but I never hear the sound. Lord I'm amazed by you..."
Calvin has a beautiful voice and I was mesmerized by him singing this song to Trinity.
Here's what happened a few moments after Calvin began to sing.
This is one of my favorite picture from the session. Your life gets turned upside down with the addition of a baby and it feels at times that everything is out of wack. So you live for this quiet and tender moment, when it's just you and the baby and you come to the realization that life is not out of wack, in fact, life couldn't be any better at this moment in time.
Calvin..."Trinity is a decidedly female name"
"Alicia...means noble, exalted nature (we just liked the meaning of this!)"
Judy..."three is a symbol of completion and wholeness...Trinity is the third person in our family :P Since she is the first to be born into a family that is Christian, she will, with God's grace, have a sense of wholeness and completeness that we never grew up with."
On Calvin and Judy's bedroom is a framed Chinese caligraphy of the word "Love". As evident by the pictures, Love is very evident in their interactions with Trinity.
Just the three of us...
